My journey through life has been nothing less than a roller coaster. Music has been my focus in life for almost 20 years. I dreamed of becoming a percussionist with one of the top professional orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the New York Philharmonic. But as we all know, plans change when we least expect them too.
I had a fallout with my percussion professor over a disagreement following my junior recital when he praised me as one of the best students he ever taught. After being given an ultimatum from him, I left the studio and switched my focus to composition and mostly taught myself how to write for picture. After several YouTube videos and a couple lessons from composition professors (I've scored over 27 films which have included 4 features since 2015 when I started), I realized that I loved what I was creating and decided to truly pursue this highly competitive career in The City of Angels.
I moved to Orange County to live with family to chase the dream. I had enough funds to live off of for a year while I hustled to make a steady income with my music. When I realized that I hadn't completed as much as I thought I would, it was too late. I was running out of money and realized I needed to do something drastic. I ran across the stock market and began to day trade. Of course as everyone who starts to trade, I lost enough money to force me into getting a job, which I hated because I've always disliked working for people.
It took a year to understand the market and when that point came, I left my day job delivering paint for Sherwin-Williams and pursued trading full-time. But that wasn't enough. I wanted more streams of income. I wanted financial freedom. I DID NOT want to have to go back and get a lame 9-5 job and be a slave to THE MAN.
I've been working hard every day still chasing the dream. I've now come to the next stage where everything is about to change for the better. As 2017 ends, I prepare for the beginning of the next chapter of my life.
Follow me on this roller coaster I call life.
