Follow Me On My Film Scoring Journey!!
I've selected several videos found online. The audio was stripped from those that had a music sound track and I composed my own. Vestiaire, for example, had no audio, so my interpretation of the movie clip was fully my musical interpretation of the scene; similar to starting with just a visual theme and with a totally blank audio canvas. I do not own the video footage; they are used solely to demonstrate the depth of my understanding of visual insight and align my composition skills to produce a compelling and integrated story. I will continue to add works that I have done as time permits. I am hopeful that these compositions of mine will stimulate interest in my work for commercial application in Film, Gaming, Television, Radio and Production.
My setup includes a MacPro and MacBook Pro, LogicX, Komplete10, and Sibelius. I also use an M-Audio workstation.

Forrest Gump will forever be a classic. When I watched it on TV for the 20th time (probably more or less) I realized this one scene didn't have music. How I managed to notice this now and not earlier beats me. Anyways, I think it's a very important and emotionally moving part near the end of the film so I decided to add my own music to it. My music is from 1:42-3:37.
I love this movie! John Williams, a great American composer, did an awesome job with this score. But there were a couple scenes where there wasn't any music. Which I thought was great because the film itself is intense and didn't need music everywhere. But it did give me an opportunity to interpret my own feelings through my scoring. So here's my shot at it.
I found this video on YouTube. It's some footage from a Panasonic G6!! I do not own this video. I just created the music. The original can be found here.
I ran across this short film and realized that the music was played in just the right moments to where it allowed me to rescore this film easily. I think my zombie/dubstep sound works great. Of course there are so many ways to do this. This is an early interpretation. The original can be found here.
I found this trailer on YouTube. This version didn't have music. So it made my life easier. This is my version of Doctor Who Season 5 Trailer. YouTube wouldn't allow this so it's here instead.
This is one of my all-time favorite movies. What Hans Zimmer composed for this movie was amazing. But I wondered if something a little different could be done. Since the movie is a hunt for a killer and the possibility that Jesus Christ was married to Mary Magdalene, I thought a church organ would be a nice addition. And still retain the epicness towards the end. For this I had to EQ a lot to keep Langdon's voice but not have the original music heard.
This is also one of my favorite movies, with Hans Zimmer's imprint. When I first saw this movie, I wondered why there wasn't music to this scene. When I decided to dive into film composing, I knew this would be a perfect practice video. I re-scored this part a while ago. Now, looking back, I realize that I've come a long way and I could make a better version now. But it's always nice to know where you came from.
This movie intro I found on Vimeo I believe. There was no music or sound whatsoever. So I created my interpretation with sounds for the effects.
I also found this video on Vimeo. Some fan created an animated intro for Spiderman. This was my first use of "tribal/epic" drums. I've learned how to make drums sound better now.
This was my first time working with cartoon animation! I really like the look of cartoon animation for some reason. I found this on Vimeo as well and it didn't have any sound throughout. So I thought I could make a cute little soundtrack for it.
This was my first time working with a video game. This video from Vimeo didn't have sound. I've enjoyed playing video games so when I found this video, I knew I could make a peculiar track to go along with gameplay.
Quite some time ago, my sister sent me this video and told me to make some playful cute music for it. And that's what I did. If anyone wants film scoring practice, YouTube has a lot of animal videos which are not only fun to watch but most of the time have no music!! It's a dream come true for you!
